PARENTAL INVOLVEMENT
There will be many times and ways you can get involved in
your child's Early Start experience. You are welcomed and
encouraged to participate in any or all of these. Some examples
of ways to be involved include:
Chaperoning on field trips
Lending objects for units of study
Coming and talking about your job, reading stories, or sharing
hobbies
Helping your child at home with the concepts we are studying
(see monthly newsletter)
Helping your child prepare for "Show and Tell"
Helping to provide treats or other items for our parties
Helping to organize fund raisers
BIRTHDAY/HOLIDAY PARTIES
Birthdays are a special time for children and we like to
celebrate them with a birthday celebration at regular snack
time. The children enjoy being part of the celebration activities.
You will be asked to send in a special treat for snack time
in the month of your child’s birthday. We also know
that families often enjoy having a party for their child outside
of the school setting. Our policy is to have you mail the
invitations rather than hand them out in the classroom. This
policy respects your right to limit the number of children
at the party while respecting the feelings of the children
who are not included. If you need addresses please refer to
your classroom directory.
We also like to celebrate holidays such as Halloween, Christmas,
and Valentine’s Day. Watch for details in your monthly
newsletters. If you prefer your child not participate in these
activities because of your family’s personal beliefs,
please let us know and we will accommodate for your child.
FIELD TRIPS
We believe field trips are a great opportunity for children
to learn “hands on”. We welcome parents who choose
to participate in the trips. All children will be placed in
safety-approved car seats as required by state law. Parents
may be requested to leave their labeled car seat at the center
for the day. You will be asked to sign a permission slip any
time that we leave our center, so that you will always know
where your child is. In case of an emergency away from the
center, our medical emergency policy will go into effect.
